Bitcoin steadied near $76,900 on Tuesday, November 3, after dipping to about $76,300 in the European morning, CoinDesk reported. The small recovery — roughly 0.2% on the day — hides a split underneath it. One group of large holders is selling. Another is buying. Understanding that split matters more than the day's price, because the two groups are acting on different time horizons, and their flows are pulling Bitcoin in opposite directions at the same time. The sellers: ETF holders pulled $399 million on Monday. United States spot Bitcoin ETFs lost $399 million on Monday, November 2, their second straight day of outflows, according to Farside Investors data cited by CoinDesk. BlackRock's IBIT accounted for $405 million of that outflow — its largest daily outflow since June — partly offset by small inflows elsewhere, including about $6.7 million into Fidelity's FBTC. October had already ended with $515 million in net ETF outflows, breaking a three-month streak of positive monthly inflows, and the October 30 session alone saw $643 million leave, the largest single-day outflow since June 25. Put together, the year's net ETF inflow has been almost entirely erased: DefiLlama put the 2026 net flow at about +$55 million through November 2, while Farside data cited by Cointelegraph put it near -$38 million. On either measure, the year's ETF demand is now roughly flat. ETF flows are the decisions of many holders added together, and right now those holders are, on balance, stepping back. The buyers: Strategy bought 811 BTC above the market price. At the same time, Strategy bought 811 BTC for about $65.5 million between October 26 and November 1, at an average price of $80,846 per coin, according to its 8-K filing — above where Bitcoin now trades. Its holdings now total 849,327 BTC at an average cost of $75,451. At about $76,506, Bitcoin sits only about 1.4% above Strategy's average cost across all its holdings. That is a very different signal from the ETF flows. A treasury buyer is not trading the week; it is accumulating a balance-sheet position and, in this case, paying up for it. The contrast is the story: ETF holders sold into weakness, while the largest corporate holder bought above the current price. The overhang: Binance outflows reached $4.72 billion. A third flow complicates the picture. Binance customers have withdrawn a net $4.72 billion since the exchange reopened on Sunday, November 1, up from $3.64 billion on that first day, CoinDesk reported. That withdrawal wave follows the roughly $6.3 billion security breach of October 29, and it is a trust flow, not a price call: customers moving coins off an exchange are reducing counterparty risk, not necessarily selling. Crypto futures trading volume gained 51% in 24 hours to $168.1 billion, while open interest fell 1.63% to $134.9 billion — a market that is trading hard but carrying slightly less leveraged exposure than before. Ether gained about 0.6% to around $2,289 while the CoinDesk Memecoin Index lost 0.8%, a mixed tape that fits a market waiting for a catalyst rather than trending. What to watch next. Three numbers will decide which group wins the argument. First, whether ETF outflows continue for a third, fourth and fifth day, or reverse into inflows — a single day of inflows would not prove a turn, but a week of them would. Second, whether Bitcoin holds the $75,597 area, the 50-week simple moving average flagged by Invezz as the key support below the current price, or breaks it and opens the way toward lower levels. Third, whether Binance's net outflows slow from the multibillion-dollar pace of the reopening days toward normal levels, which would signal that the trust shock is fading. The United States jobs report on November 6 and consumer prices on November 10 are the scheduled macro catalysts in between. Until one of those breaks, Bitcoin looks like a market caught between two institutional stories — ETF holders de-risking, a treasury buyer accumulating — with the price pinned near $76,900 in the middle.FAQ: Why did Bitcoin steady near $76,900 on November 3?
