Solana's Two-Sided Week: Polygon Brings It to Bank Payments While a Staking Outage Freezes $160 Million in Rewards

Solana is having two weeks at once. On one side, the network just took a meaningful step toward mainstream payments: Polygon Labs announced on October 29 that it has integrated Solana into its Open Money Stack, letting businesses move funds between bank accounts and blockchains through a single integration. On the other side, a staking outage froze rewards on about 1.56 million SOL —...

Polymarket Paused Trading After a $2.65 Million Exploit — and the Weak Link Wasn't Its Own Code

Prediction markets had their worst day of the year on Thursday — not because traders got a big call wrong, but because someone else's code let an attacker drain user accounts. Polymarket, the world's largest prediction market, halted trading on its international platform on October 29, 2026, after roughly $2.65 million was drained from user accounts in minutes. The platform says it has...

Securitize Brings Tokenized Funds to Stellar as the Network Climbs to Fourth in Real-World Assets

While the market argues about Bitcoin's next $5,000 move, the quietest race in crypto keeps producing real milestones. Securitize, the institutional tokenization firm, announced at the Meridian 2026 conference in Lisbon on October 28 that it has added the Stellar blockchain to support real-world asset tokenization. The move puts one of the largest regulated tokenization platforms onto the...

POLYMARKET PAUSES TRADING AFTER SECURITY BREACH. Prediction market Polymarket halted trading on its international platform Thursday after a third-party provider was compromised. Trading went cancel-only, relayer actions paused, and about $2.65M was drained — Arkham data links a suspected attacker wallet holding ~$2.65M in POL. Polymarket says the issue is fixed and all affected users will be made whole. Third-party risk is now crypto's weakest link. Switzerland Just Approved Its First True Spot Bitcoin ETF — and Opened It to Banks Abroad

Switzerland has done what the rest of Europe has not: approved a retail investment fund that owns Bitcoin directly. The Swiss Financial Market Supervisory Authority, FINMA, approved the Bitcoin Fund ETF, known as BBIT, on October 20, 2026, and the fund is expected to begin trading on the SIX Swiss Exchange in November, although an exact date has not yet been set. What makes the approval...

Zcash Spikes to $1,346 as Shorts Get Squeezed — and a Network Upgrade Arrives in a Week

While Bitcoin hugged the $80,000 line on Thursday, the day's sharpest crypto move came from the privacy corner of the market. Zcash (ZEC) jumped 3.98% in a single hour to $1,346 on Binance spot trading at 11:35 a.m. ET on October 29, according to TokenPost, and was up 5.77% over 24 hours at that observation. In the same hour, $4.39 million in short positions were liquidated across Binance,...

Binance Hit by Suspected $2.5 Billion Wallet Drain — What We Know, and What Is Still Unconfirmed

On October 29, crypto markets were hit by a fast-moving scare centred on Binance, the world's largest crypto exchange. On-chain trackers flagged roughly $2.5 billion moving out of Binance-labelled wallets, and prices fell sharply within hours. This article separates what has been observed from what remains unconfirmed. The key caveat, repeated throughout, is that the hack is SUSPECTED and...

Strategy's $19.53 Billion Quarter: How a Bitcoin Treasury Turned a Price Rally Into Record Profit

Strategy, the company formerly known as MicroStrategy, just reported one of the most extraordinary quarters in corporate history — and almost none of it came from selling software. For the third quarter of 2026, Strategy reported net income of $19.53 billion, up from $2.79 billion in the same quarter a year earlier, on the back of a $20.91 billion gain on its digital assets. Diluted...

Coinbase's $719 Million Profit Is Mostly a Paper Gain — and That Is the Real Q3 Story

Coinbase reported third-quarter 2026 results on October 29, 2026: net income of $719 million, or $2.51 per diluted share, against analyst expectations of a loss. Revenue fell 35% year over year to $1.22 billion, trading shrank, and nearly the entire profit came from a $715 million gain on crypto assets Coinbase holds as an investment. Strip that out, adjusted net income was just $77.7 million....

BNB Is Quietly Beating Bitcoin in Late October — and the Chain Behind It Is Still Growing

On October 29, the crypto market told two stories at once. The headline was weakness: according to FXEmpire's October 29 report, total market capitalisation stood at $2.67 trillion, and Bitcoin reversed from its 50-day moving average near $81,700 to about $79,900. The quieter story was BNB. BNB rose 0.6% on the day, making it the outperformer among major assets, extending gains from the...
