🇰🇷 South Korea has delayed its crypto gains tax for a FOURTH time — now set to start in January 2029 instead of January 2027.
Finance Minister Lee Hyoung Il announced the two-year delay on Thursday, citing gaps in overseas transaction reporting and the wait for US tax-information exchange, which begins in 2029.
Under the plan, annual crypto gains above 2.5 million won (about $1,860) would be taxed at 22%, and investors get a three-year loss carryforward. The tax was first proposed in 2020 and was originally due in 2022.
