BREAKING: USDC just overtook USDT in euro stablecoin trading 🇪🇺 Circle's USDC now holds 56% of stablecoin trading against the euro — up from just 10% in January 2024, according to new Kaiko data. USDC's euro order books are also about 40% deeper than USDT's. The shift follows Europe's MiCA rules, which pushed exchanges to restrict USDT for European customers. And the US could be next: the OCC's GENIUS Act rules take effect in January 2027. Tether still leads globally, with supply roughly 2.5x USDC's — but in Europe, the crown has changed hands.
