  • What Is Dollar-Cost Averaging? How DCA Works in Crypto — and What the Research Says
Dollar-cost averaging means investing the same fixed amount on a regular schedule — every week or every month — no matter what the price is doing. When the price falls, your money buys more. When it rises, it buys less. And here is the twist the research insists on: investing a lump sum all at once has beaten DCA about two times out of three historically — yet DCA remains the...

  • What Is an Earnings Surprise? Why Stocks Jump or Crash After Results
A company can report record profits — and still see its stock fall 10% in a day. Or it can post a loss — and jump. The reason is almost never the raw number. It is the earnings surprise: the gap between what a company actually earned and what Wall Street expected it to earn. Understanding that gap is the single most useful skill for reading earnings season, so here is how it works,...

  • 🚨 BREAKING: Russia has seized four Japan Tobacco factories.

President Vladimir Putin signed a decree late Thursday placing all four of Japan Tobacco's Russian manufacturing operations under temporary state management. Japan Tobacco confirmed the decree on Friday and said it is considering its options.

Shares in Japan Tobacco closed down 19% in Tokyo on Friday — after closing at a record high of 7,769 yen on Thursday. The Russian business accounts for about 10% of group revenue and roughly 25% of operating profit, with around 4,000 employees across the four plants.

Japan formally protested on Friday, with the government demanding Moscow reverse the move immediately. Tokyo owns around 37% of Japan Tobacco.

Stock splits are one of the most misunderstood events in investing. They look dramatic, they move prices on the day,...

  • What Is EPS? Earnings Per Share Explained — How Investors Read It
Intro Every earnings season, one number dominates the headlines: EPS. "Company X beat EPS estimates" or "EPS missed by 10 cents" — and the stock jumps or sinks within seconds. Yet many new investors cannot say what EPS actually measures, or why a "beat" sometimes sends a stock down. EPS stands for earnings per share. It is simply a company's profit divided by the number of shares it has...

A modern crypto exchange earns money from trading fees, from the spread between buy and sell prices, from listing new tokens, from withdrawals, from margin lending, from staking commissions, from custody and from institutional services. Understanding...
