⚖️ Arkansas has sued prediction-market platform Kalshi, accusing it of running an illegal gambling operation in the state. Attorney General Tim Griffin filed the suit on Nov 4 against KalshiEX LLC and Kalshi Inc., saying the platform let Arkansas residents as young as 18 wager on sports, elections and entertainment without state gambling licences. The 57-page complaint, filed in Independence County Circuit Court, calls Kalshi a "pocket-sized bookie" and seeks restitution, civil penalties, unpaid gambling taxes and an injunction. Arkansas is the seventh state to charge, sue or restrict Kalshi, according to a CoinDesk tally. Utah filed 14 criminal charges against the company and its co-founders last week, while the CFTC has sued 10 states defending its jurisdiction over prediction markets. Kalshi says its contracts are federally regulated derivatives, not gambling. POLYMARKET PAUSES TRADING AFTER SECURITY BREACH. Prediction market Polymarket halted trading on its international platform Thursday after a third-party provider was compromised. Trading went cancel-only, relayer actions paused, and about $2.65M was drained — Arkham data links a suspected attacker wallet holding ~$2.65M in POL.
