  • 🚨 BREAKING: Greece has passed its first dedicated crypto tax law. From January 1, 2027, individual investors will pay 10% tax on annual crypto gains above €500. Income from staking, crypto lending and DeFi liquidity faces a separate 15% levy. Small gains under €500 stay exempt, and past gains can be declared penalty-free for 12 months. Athens says crypto-to-crypto swaps stay tax-free — but parliament's own advisers warn the wording could still catch them. #Greece #CryptoTax #DeFi #CryptoNews #Bitcoin #Crypto Join the conversation on Zimbuck — the finance social platform for traders & investors: https://zimbuck.com

  • 🇫🇷 FRANCE DROPS CRYPTO TAX IN 458–0 VOTE

France's National Assembly has rejected the revenue section of its 2027 budget — wiping out three crypto measures in one vote:
    • Tax on crypto-to-stablecoin swaps — dropped
    • Mandatory disclosure of self-custodied holdings over €100,000 — dropped
    • Higher penalties for crypto platforms — dropped

The vote was 458–0, with two abstentions. The Senate takes up the bill from Nov 20, so the measures could still return — but for now, French crypto holders keep the current rules.

  • 🇬🇷 Greece just approved its first-ever crypto tax framework.

Parliament voted on Nov 5 to levy a 10% capital gains tax on crypto — down from the 15% originally proposed. The first €500 (~$563) of annual net gains is tax-free, and crypto-to-crypto swaps won't trigger tax. The new rules apply from January 1, 2027.

Greece joins a growing list of EU states bringing crypto fully into the tax net.

  • 🇰🇷 South Korea has delayed its crypto gains tax for a FOURTH time — now set to start in January 2029 instead of January 2027.

Finance Minister Lee Hyoung Il announced the two-year delay on Thursday, citing gaps in overseas transaction reporting and the wait for US tax-information exchange, which begins in 2029.

Under the plan, annual crypto gains above 2.5 million won (about $1,860) would be taxed at 22%, and investors get a three-year loss carryforward. The tax was first proposed in 2020 and was originally due in 2022.
