BREAKING: Brazil's largest crypto exchange, Mercado Bitcoin, has halted deposits and withdrawals after a security incident overnight. Security firm Hypernative flagged over $40M in suspicious transfers across at least 10 blockchains, including Bitcoin, Ethereum and Solana. The exchange says no customer lost money and no data leaked, and Tether has frozen over $4.5M in USDT linked to the incident.
